Associate / Sr. Associate - Finance (Revenue)
Job Description:
You will play a pivotal role in analyzing revenue trends, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and driving data-driven decisions to optimize overall financial performance. You will work closely with the Fin-Ops team, who handles data collation, to ensure the accuracy of key revenue and cost numbers, such as credit losses, settlements, and other related data. Reconcile the LAN-level revenue and build completeness. Your responsibilities will include tracking revenue metrics, preparing and analyzing reports, ensuring relevant controls are operating efficiently, and providing valuable insights into business performance. This will involve deep dives into individual LAN-level data or transaction-level reconciliations. Additionally, you will collaborate with various departments to ensure revenue is accurately captured, processed, and reported at both the operational and executional levels.
1. Revenue and Cost Data Accuracy:
o Work closely with the Fin-Ops team to ensure accurate revenue numbers and related cost data, including credit losses, settlements, and other associated data.
o Collaborate with other teams to ensure that all revenue and cost data is accurately captured, processed, and recorded.
o Perform deep dives into LAN-level or transaction-level data when required, identifying discrepancies or opportunities for improvement.
2. Revenue Analysis & Monthly MIS Reporting:
o Track key revenue metrics, including monthly, quarterly, and annual performance.
o Prepare and present detailed reports on revenue performance, highlighting trends and variances, to provide key insights.
o Compile schedules of your allocated areas and promptly get them reviewed by your immediate manager, and ensure the same is appropriately reflected in the financial systems and MIS.
3. Monitoring Financial Controls:
o Monitor and ensure that relevant financial controls (SOPs, RCMs) are in place and operating at optimal levels.
o Regularly assess processes and controls for potential improvements or optimization opportunities.
o Assist in the implementation of any corrective measures if any discrepancies or weaknesses in controls are identified.
4. Update Accounts Receivable and Perform Reconciliation:
o Regularly update the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring that all customers' invoices and receipts are recorded.
o Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
o Liaise with customers for clarification on any outstanding receivables or issues and ensure payment is received well within the designated timelines.
o Build completeness of revenues.
5. Cross-Department Collaboration:
o Work closely with various departments, including product, BI, and Fin Ops, to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting.
o Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless execution of financial operations and ensure alignment with business strategies.
6. Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis:
o Provide ad hoc analysis and insights to senior management as required.
o Assist with any special finance-related requests or data analysis tasks as they arise.
7. Post & Process Journal Entries:
o Record all financial transactions accurately in the general ledger.
o Ensure proper documentation for each entry, including supporting invoices, receipts, or agreements.
Apply if You Are:
• Semi-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA from a reputed college.
• Proficiency with accounting software like Tally/Joho, as well as spreadsheet tools such as Excel, is often required.
• Proficient with knowledge of tax laws, financial reporting standards, and other regulatory requirements related to finance and accounting.
• Good with both written and verbal communication skills, which are essential to ensure smooth interaction with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
