BIM Structural Draftsman

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

* Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for structural projects using Revit Structure and AutoCAD.
* Prepare structural detailing for beams, columns, slabs, footings, foundations, shear walls, and staircases.
* Perform rebar detailing and reinforcement modelling in Revit.
* Generate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and reinforcement quantity take-offs.
* Prepare detailed structural shop drawings independently as per IFC drawings and design inputs.
* Coordinate with structural engineers to incorporate design changes accurately.
* Conduct clash detection using Navisworks and resolve structural clashes with Architectural & MEP disciplines.
* Ensure all drawings comply with structural drafting standards and project specifications.
* Update and maintain BIM models throughout design and construction stages.
* Prepare LOD 350–450 models and as-built structural documentation.
* Maintain proper version control and documentation management as per the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).

Requirements to Apply

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience as a Draftsman, preferably with exposure to BIM workflows.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Strong understanding of architectural drawings, detailing, and drafting standards.
• Familiar with BIM coordination and multi-disciplinary integration.
• Good attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of Dubai or GCC building standards is an advantage.
