Job Description: Logistics Executive / Logistics Engineer

Job Summary

The Logistics function plays a critical role in coordinating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient, economical, and safe delivery of products to customers while enhancing customer satisfaction.

The key responsibility will be to coordinate the complete supply chain activities within the plant, starting from Sales Order Processing to Final Shipment, including Warehousing, Domestic and Export Logistics.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Responsible for managing logistics activities for all products manufactured against confirmed customer orders across different business units.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the right product is delivered at the right time, location, and cost while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with customers, distributors, transport agencies, and other external stakeholders as required.
Manage packing requirements, including designing and selecting suitable packing materials and maintaining optimum inventory levels.
Optimize material handling processes and ensure safe storage of goods until dispatch.
Identify and select the most suitable transportation modes and negotiate freight rates for shipments.
Focus on shipment cost optimization through effective packing methods, process improvements, and economical logistics solutions.
Develop a strong team culture and maintain excellent customer relationships by understanding and addressing customer requirements.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, ISO standards, HSEQ guidelines, and established processes at plant and site locations.

Key Requirements
Strong exposure to logistics activities within the engineering/manufacturing industry.
Ability to work effectively as a team contributor in a multicultural and multinational environment.
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence effectively at all organizational levels.
Ability to coordinate and work directly with skilled and unskilled shop floor employees.

Travel Requirements
The role involves limited travel within India.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
Commerce Graduate or Diploma in Engineering.
2 to 5 years of experience in logistics activities, preferably handling complex and highly engineered products.
Strong knowledge of Incoterms, domestic and export shipment regulations, and related documentation processes.

Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of SAP environment.
Experience in freight cost calculation, rate contract negotiations, insurance formalities, and claim management.
Knowledge of logistics cost optimization and vendor management.
