About the job
We are looking for creative mechanical design engineers for a long-term association in our fast-growing company. You will be operating as part of a team of engineers in carrying out proposal and detailed engineering work, and providing necessary technical information to other disciplines in compliance with tender specifications/client’s design brief within the stipulated timeline.
The main purpose of this position is to provide engineering services assistance to local and overseas sister companies within the group. This is a great opportunity to work in a very dynamic, cross-cultural environment.
Job Description
• Interpret design briefs and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Create 2D/3D CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD / Autodesk Inventor
• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts and detailed fabrication drawings
• Understand and update design submittal as per the client’s requirement over non-personal communication medium like Teams meetings and emails.
• Seek client’s approval and prepare detailed manufacturing package i.e. detailed manufacturing drawings, detailed sub-assemblies, weld maps, Sheet metal cutting layouts etc.
• Effective documentation, presentation and composition skills.
• Calculate Design and Analyse the safety of equipment in accordance with Indian as well as international design standards like IS: 800, AISC, AWWA etc.
• Work in a multi-cultural team spread in different time zones.
• Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change.
Educational Qualification, Experience & Skills:
• Diploma / BE Mechanical engineering
• Minimum experience – 3 yrs. in CAD/design engineering role – Manufacturing domain
• Strong computer skills with Proficiency in AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Knowledge of manufacturing standards like welding, sheet metal, fits and tolerances.
• Prepare structural and fluid design calculations (Excel) and perform FEA analysis for the client.
Preferred
• Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor with advanced features like i-logic, etc
• CAD Experience in the fields of sheet metal work, mechanised welding and machining, etc. (DFM).
• Knowledge of MathCAD / Excel-based engineering calculations, Ansys Fluent.
• Exposure to fabrication processes
• SAP / ERP / PDM tools
• GD & T Fundamentals
