Position: Manufacturing Design Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Design Engineer to support product design, manufacturing optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical design expertise, a solid understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes, and hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams to improve product manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and modify engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing projects.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Sourcing, NPD, and Maintenance teams to ensure efficient product realization.
• Review and optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and ease of assembly (DFA).
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering documentation, and technical records.
• Support process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
• Resolve manufacturing and design-related issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate prototype development, testing, and implementation of design changes.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support to production teams and assist with customer or site-related engineering requirements when necessary.
Qualification
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, or industrial equipment design industries.
