Sales Manager -Domestic & Export (Food Ingredients Division)

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Sales Manager to drive domestic and international business for our portfolio of potato starch, modified starch, starch derivatives, and specialty food ingredients. The role focuses on business development, key account management, export market expansion, distributor development, and revenue growth across India and global markets.
The ideal candidate should possess strong B2B sales expertise, technical knowledge of food ingredients, and hands-on experience in handling domestic as well as export operations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales growth across domestic and international markets.
- Develop new B2B customers in FMCG, snacks, bakery, dairy, beverage, noodles, pasta, and food processing industries.
- Promote starch-based ingredient applications and identify new business opportunities.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Expand into new territories and industry segments.
Key Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers.
- Coordinate with Production, QA, R&D, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer concerns related to quality, deliveries, and service.
- Ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Export Business Development
- Develop new export markets and distributor networks.
- Handle international enquiries, quotations, negotiations, and commercial discussions.
- Build relationships with overseas buyers, importers, and industrial customers.
- Participate in international trade exhibitions and virtual B2B events.
Export Documentation & Logistics
- Manage export documentation including PI, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Bill of Lading, COA, MSDS, and Phytosanitary Certificates.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
- Support domestic dispatch planning and customer documentation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with export regulations and customer approvals.
Marketing & Product Promotion
- Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and application trials.
- Support marketing activities through brochures, technical literature, and digital content.
- Identify new ingredient trends and recommend business opportunities.
Market Intelligence
- Track competitor pricing, industry trends, and global demand movements.
- Provide market insights for pricing strategy and business planning.
- Identify emerging opportunities and potential business risks.
Reporting & CRM
- Maintain CRM/ERP records for leads, opportunities, and orders.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports and forecasts.
- Analyze sales performance and pipeline conversion metrics.
Required Skills
- Strong B2B sales and business development capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Technical understanding of food ingredients, starches, and modified starches.
- Knowledge of export documentation, INCOTERMS, HS Codes, and international trade practices.
- Strong analytical and forecasting abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Self-driven with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Qualification
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Science, or Business Management (preferred).
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience in food ingredients, specialty chemicals, starches, hydrocolloids, or related sectors.
- Experience handling both domestic and export markets is mandatory.
- Proven track record in new customer acquisition and revenue growth.
