Job Description:
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Entity Reviewer with strong technical expertise in U.S. business taxation. This role is responsible for reviewing and preparing business entity tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance, identifying tax planning opportunities, providing technical guidance to preparers, and supporting the efficient delivery of high-quality client service.
What You'll Do
- Review U.S. business tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120S, and 1120, along with related federal and state filings prepared by tax staff.
- Prepare complex business entity tax returns and supporting workpapers as needed.
- Ensure returns are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable tax laws, regulations, and firm standards.
- Identify review points, technical issues, missing information, and tax planning opportunities.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to preparers and assist in resolving complex tax matters.
- Review supporting workpapers, book-to-tax adjustments, fixed asset schedules, and other tax-related documentation.
- Manage assigned preparation and review workloads to ensure timely delivery of engagements.
- Research and resolve complex federal and state tax issues related to partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, multi-state filings, and pass-through entities.
- Review extension calculations, estimated tax payments, and filing requirements.
- Support staff development by providing technical guidance and review feedback.
- Stay current on U.S. federal and state tax law changes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Requirement:
- CPA required; EA designation considered.
- 6+ years of U.S. tax experience, including significant experience with both preparation and review of business entity tax returns.
- Strong technical knowledge of Forms 1065, 1120S, and 1120, including related federal and state compliance requirements.
- Experience with partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, K-1 reporting, basis calculations, depreciation, and book-to-tax adjustments.
- Exposure to multi-state taxation, apportionment, nexus, and pass-through entity tax matters.
- Proficiency in CCH Axcess, SurePrep, CaseWare, CaseWare Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide technical guidance and review feedback.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to continuous learning.
