Project Engineer
Job Description:
Position Summary The successful candidate will have previous Project management experience for development of steel & Iron castings/Forging for Oil & Gas, Earthmoving equipment industry, Pump & valve or other similar manufacturing industries. This individual will have primary responsibility as a project management engineer for the development of steel & Iron castings/Forging components with key suppliers and coordinator between USA Project engineer, India sourcing/Quality team & Suppliers. This position demands working closely with internal & external stakeholders to develop strong supply chain which ensure that quality and delivery objectives are met.
Key Accountabilities
Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
Completes technical studies (Drawing & specifications), customer requirements, and performance standards.
Determines project schedule from suppliers
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maximize supplier performance and contribute to the development of a competent and reliable vendor base to meet the company's business objectives, strong delivery performance and high quality products.
Manage key suppliers to assess capabilities, operating performance, capacity and improvement initiatives
Work with suppliers and Supplier Quality to achieve zero defects
Ensure on-time delivery; support supplier capacity and delivery escalation process
Knowledge of production and finish good processing for castings (equipment, secondary processes, for example machining, etc.)
Knowledge of tooling necessary to produce casting/Forging finish goods(mold tools, fixtures, capital, refurbishment needs and life span)
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Diploma OR Bachelor degree in mechanical or production engineering
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
• APICS and/or C.P.M. training/certification is a plus
Qualification/Skills The successful candidate should ideally meet the following main criteria:
• Minimum of 8 years as project management engineer in similar industries.
• Functional knowledge of casting & forging components in manufacturing industry
• A technical background and experience in understanding the business from order to cash
• A high level of written and oral communications skills in English
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
• High level of motivation and ability to manage several tasks at once
• Travel to suppliers approximately 40% or higher
• Leadership ability. Experience preferred
