Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in the steel industry. This role is essential in maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective procurement, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, experience in managing vendor relations, and the ability to meet margins and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Vendor Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors to ensure high-quality supplies and services.
    • Monitor vendor performance and adherence to contract terms, quality standards, and timelines.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all vendor-related inquiries and issues.
  2. Negotiation:
    • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and discounts with vendors to optimize costs and meet budget requirements.
    • Ensure the best possible deals while maintaining quality standards and aligning with company goals.
    • Continuously evaluate and negotiate to secure cost-effective and timely sourcing.
  3. Meeting Margins:
    • Ensure vendor arrangements align with budgetary constraints to meet company profit margins.
    • Strategically manage costs by identifying opportunities for savings without compromising quality or efficiency.
    • Regularly review and analyze expenditures with vendors to optimize cost-effectiveness.
  4. Dealing with Transporters and Drivers:
    • Coordinate with transporters and drivers to ensure timely and safe delivery of materials.
    • Address any issues related to transportation, such as delays, damage, or quality concerns.
    • Foster good working relationships with transportation providers to improve service reliability and efficiency.
  5. Industry Expertise:
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the steel industry, including market trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics.
    • Leverage industry insights to make informed purchasing and vendor management decisions.
    • Stay updated on competitor activities and industry benchmarks to maintain a competitive edge
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, particularly within the steel industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and meet profit margin goals.
  • Experience in handling logistics and transport-related coordination is a plus.
