Job Description:

Overview:

As the Plant Head in our manufacturing industry, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of plant operations to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. You will oversee the entire manufacturing process, from raw material procurement to product delivery, while upholding safety standards, quality control, and operational efficiency. Your leadership will drive the achievement of production targets, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Leadership and Strategy:
     Provide strategic direction and leadership to the plant team, setting clear goals and objectives aligned with organizational targets.
     Develop and implement operational plans and initiatives to optimize plant performance, enhance productivity, and drive cost-effective operations.

2) Production Management:
    Oversee all aspects of production operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization, to meet production targets and customer demands.
    Ensure compliance with quality standards, production schedules, and safety regulations to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.

3) Continuous Improvement:
     Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
     Implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other best practices to streamline operations and maximize productivity.

4) Quality Assurance:
     Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures and procedures to ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
      Lead efforts to address quality issues, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to drive quality improvement.

5) Supply Chain Management:
     Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and supplies to support production schedules.
     Optimize inventory management practices to minimize inventory levels while ensuring continuity of production and meeting customer demands.

6) Team Development:
     Build and develop a high-performing plant team through effective leadership, coaching, and talent development initiatives.
      Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning to empower employees and drive employee engagement.

7) Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
      Champion a strong safety culture within the plant, promoting adherence to HSE policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
      Implement and monitor safety programs, training initiatives, and compliance with regulatory requirements to minimize accidents and incidents.

8) Stakeholder Management:
     Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, engineering, sales, and finance, to align plant operations with business objectives and priorities.
     Build positive relationships with external stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and community representatives, to support plant operations and foster partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or relevant professional certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of work experience.
  • Proven experience in plant management or senior leadership roles within the manufacturing industry, with a track record of success in driving operational excellence.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, quality management, and supply chain operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, drive change, and achieve results in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, manufacturing software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
